National Panchayat Awards 2024 - Tripura bagged an unprecedented total of 7 awards

The Ministry of Panchayats in India awards the Panchayats annually for their excellent work in Panchayat management. This year, Tripura’s Panchayats have achieved remarkable success in the National Panchayat Awards 2024. Out of 45 awards, Tripura received 7, tying with Odisha for the most awards. The Chief Minister congratulated everyone involved and highlighted this achievement as proof of the strong and effective Panchayati Raj system in Tripura.

Tripura’s awards include:

Best District Panchayat: Gomati district received the Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikash Puraskar with a prize of ₹5 crore.

Best Block Panchayat: Amarpur RD Block got second place nationwide, winning ₹1.75 crore.

Best Women Friendly Panchayat: Manubunkul Village Committee in Rupaichari block won ₹1 crore.

Carbon Neutral Panchayat: Thakchahra Gram Panchayat in Amarpur RD Block placed second, winning ₹75 lakh.

Poverty Free and Enhanced Livelihoods Panchayat: Betchara Gram Panchayat in Kumarghat block came third, winning ₹50 lakh.

Child Friendly Panchayat: Rajkang Village Committee in Amarpur RD Block placed third, winning ₹50 lakh.

Water Sufficient Village: Debbari Gram Panchayat in Amarpur block came third, winning ₹50 lakh.

The total prize money for Tripura is ₹10 crore. A delegation led by Dr. Sandeep R. Rathode will attend the award ceremony on December 11, 2024, in New Delhi, which will be attended by the President of India.
