Tripura Civil Service Recruitment (TPSC) Exam

Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) conducts recruitment examination for the post of Tripura Civil Service (TCS) Grade-II & Tripura Police Service (TPS) Grade-II, Group-A Gazetted under GA (P & T) Department, Govt. of Tripura every year. Let us check some details of the said examination.

Age Limit for Tripura Civil Service Recruitment 2023

A candidate shall not be below 21 years and over 40 years of age as on a specific date mentioned in the official notification released by the Commission. Upper Age-limit is relaxable by 5(five) years in case of SC, ST, Differently abled (PH) candidates and Government Servants, provided that the Govt. servants of SC/ST/ Differently abled (PH) category shall not get this relaxation over and above the general relaxation of 5 (five) years available to them.

Educational Qualification

The applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University. Knowledge of Bengali/English/Kokborok language is desirable for the service posts.

Tripura Civil Service Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern

The examination is conducted in three phases namely,
  1. Preliminary (200 marks)
  2. Mains (800 marks)
  3. Personality Test (100 marks)

1. Preliminary Examination Pattern:

  • The Preliminary Examination will consist of only one paper viz. a paper on “General Studies”.
  • The Preliminary Examination is a screening test only to select candidates for the Main Examination. The marks obtained in this examination by the candidates will not be considered for preparing final merit list.
  • The paper will be of an Objective Type consisting of 200 Multiple Choice Question.
  • The paper will carry 200 marks and will be of two and half (2½) hours duration.
  • There shall be negative marking of ¼ (one-fourth) of the marks assigned to that question for each wrong answer/multiple answers.
  • The standard of the paper will be of the level of knowledge as expected of a graduate of any faculty of the recognized University.
