CM inaugurated State Level Khelo Tripura Para Games-2024

The differently-abled are just as capable as others and are showcasing their skills in various fields, said Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at the inauguration of the Khelo Tripura Para Games-2024 in Agartala. The two-day event, organized by the Departments of Social Welfare and Youth Affairs, celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The games feature sports like cricket, chess, and football for the visually impaired. The Chief Minister emphasized that such events improve physical and mental health, discipline, and patriotism.
The government is also implementing programs to assist the differently-abled, including 4% job reservation and social allowances for eligible persons. So far, over 35,000 people have received disability identity cards. The Chief Minister also released the Tripura Policy for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities 2024 and honored students with disabilities for academic excellence. Various stalls were set up for visitors to explore.
